Il centro

Il CESIM è un luogo di incontro e dialogo tra ricerche che abbiano come denominatore comune gli studi sull’italiano, le sue varietà, la sua storia, la sua diffusione in Italia e all’estero, i suoi contatti con altre lingue e culture. Si occupa inoltre delle vecchie e nuove minoranze linguistiche presenti nello spazio linguistico italiano. Trovi qui (link a sottopagina ricerca) le principali linee di ricerca al momento attive.
Il CESIM organizza prevalentemente le seguenti iniziative:

convegni, seminari e giornate di studio
presentazioni di libri
discussioni di progetti di ricerca in corso
pubblicazione di studi e ricerche
attività di terza missione

Alcune delle attività sono svolte in collaborazione con altri centri o strutture dell’Ateneo e con altri Atenei e centri di ricerca, in Italia e all’estero.
Il CESIM è stato istituito con D.R. n. 628.21 del 3 novembre 2021 nell’àmbito delle attività realizzate dal DISU come Dipartimento di eccellenza della ricerca. Dal novembre 2023 sono confluite nel Centro alcune delle attività e delle ricerche del Centro di Eccellenza Osservatorio linguistico permanente dell’italiano diffuso fra stranieri e delle lingue immigrate in Italia.

The centre

The CESIM is a hub for meeting and dialogue among researchers who share a common focus on the study of the Italian language. This includes its varieties, history, and spread both in Italy and abroad, as well as its contact with other languages and cultures. It also addresses the old and new linguistic minorities present within the Italian linguistic landscape. You can find the main research areas currently active here (link to the research subpage).
The CESIM primarily organizes the following initiatives:

conferences, seminars, and study days
book presentations
discussions of ongoing research projects
publication of studies and research
"third mission" activities (activities related to public engagement and knowledge transfer)

Some of these activities are carried out in collaboration with other centers or structures within the university, as well as with other universities and research centers, in Italy and abroad.
The CESIM was established by Rectoral Decree no. 628.21 on November 3, 2021, as part of the activities carried out by DISU as a Department of Research Excellence. In November 2023, some of the activities and research from the Center of Excellence "Permanent Linguistic Observatory of Italian spoken by foreigners and immigrant languages in Italy" were incorporated into the center.
